Rory Smith is a Northern Irish presenter and broadcaster with a particular passion for human interest, entertainment and lifestyle.
Rory is currently a presenter for one of Britain’s most iconic cooking shows ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ on BBC1. The show regularly reaches over 2 million viewers and Rory used his past chef experience in restaurants in Northern Ireland to become a well-loved personality on national weekend television.
Rory’s natural ability and skills to work in television was established as a producer on the BAFTA Award winning UK’s favourite daytime program ‘This Morning’ on ITV. The show regularly gets a daily TV audience of 2 million viewers with online platforms reaching over 1 billion views in 2018 alone. Rory has worked with some of the most well known faces in showbiz including Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes, Phillip Schofield, Davina McCall, Jo Malone, Caitlyn Jenner and Drew Barrymore.
Before moving to London eight years ago, Rory’s career started in Ireland where he was the main presenter of the news and local programmes for regional television. Rory was instrumental in bringing daytime shows to the network which brought in the highest viewing figures for the channel.
Rory comes from County Down, Northern Ireland and has never forgotten his roots. His favourite music to play on his guitar is Irish and American country – but that doesn’t stop him from playing classical piano. And he can’t resist returning to America every year to visit his extended family in the idyllic state of New Hampshire where one of his favourite pastimes is lake fishing with his grandfather.
